After several shipments, I have determined that they are an unreliable broker. The customer service telephone extension just sends you to another broker. Example: told them vital delivery window. Plenty of time. I dropped load at terminal. Being delivered 10 days late. No sense of responsibility for spoken words. Example: I compared the shipping cost of a LTL shipment quoted by the supplier's broker with the quote from Freight Center.

Same shipment, same pallet/weight info, same time of quote (while on phone with supplier), same trucking company. Freight Center more than 60% higher. Apples to apples exactly. Lower rates. Really?

Charged me 20% cancellation fee for nothing. Just because I decided not to ship with them. They won't tell you this over the phone when you set your shipping, they will point you to hidden policy on their website when they call to let you know you not getting your refund in full. Bunch of crooks. Stay away from them. Astonished how company can steel from you in plain daylight. Will try to warn everyone on the net about their sneaky ways of making money.

First and last time I will use them. I should have checked the reviews first like other people have called out. They picked up a commercial oven that I sold to someone in another state. They picked it up on 4/11 and said it was going to be delivered by 4/13 or 4/14. Well, by 4/20 they still hadn't delivered it nor even called the buyer or me to let us know what is going on.

I called FreightCenter and they couldn't find my info!? Took speaking with several people and receiving multiple callbacks to finally even figure out what my shipment was. The buyer almost cancelled the order on me which would have cost me a bunch of money and would have been infuriating. I wouldn't trust these people to ship a letter, let alone anything valuable. Go with literally any other freight shipper. FreightCenter has the WORST reviews out of all of them. And for good reason.

TLDR; Poor communication, poor timelines, poor pricing. Better off using anyone else. Booked a shipment on 14 Mar with scheduled delivery of 24 Mar for a 140 lbs bass amplifier cabinet in a road case. They charged $1K and subbed it out to another carrier. Their sub never picked up the shipment because they didn't have the phone number at the pickup location to schedule the pickup. Ok, fair, maybe; however, the sub never informed anyone what was going on until I called FreightCenter to ask wtf on the estimated delivery date. FreightCenter is rude and acts like it's my fault for not giving the sub the information or asking where the shipment is before the estimated delivery date.

How could I give them the pickup info? I don't know who you're subbing out to. Finally get the cabinet picked up 11 days after originally scheduled and they were still 2 days late on their own projected delivery date. For $200 less I could've got a big brown truck to do it better and faster. Lesson learned. Will never use again. Will not recommend to anyone. Heck, will actively discourage others from using them if I find out they're being considered as a viable shipping option.

Horrible experience. Bad communication between freight center and the trucking company. freight center should be out of business. freight center makes a 40% mark up on all jobs they do, and they do absolutely nothing to help remedy a situation. horrible customer service. And the national account manager (name I will not disclose publicly) is completely useless

Should have went with FedEx! My shipment made it to the state I live in on the estimated arrival date. Instead of dropping my shipment off at the terminal the carrier decided to take my shipment on an extra 2500 mile road trip! I watched tracking the whole time and called freightcenter.com multiple times. They could not give me an answer on why this was happening or give me a new arrival date.

I finally got my shipment two weeks late. Freight center tells me that the original date was an estimated date. I understand freight center is just a middle man and it was really the carriers fault. Freight center will do nothing to make this better. Not even a partial refund or a even a call back to apologize! Don't waste your time and money with a middle man and go straight to a real carrier. 4 days after I received my shipment they are now trying to charge me an additional $650. SCAM!

Should have checked reviews before using. They take incompetence to a new low. Or maybe that is just how they do business? Hard to say, I won't be finding out again. Booked a Full trailer for a pickup with a Shaun B., didn't get confirmation until a 1/2 day before after making SEVERAL contacts. And I was paying full retail. OK, it's the Pandemic, everything is sideways, I accepted that.

But then I tell them the pick up window. They agree, we are good to go. The truck shows up 2 hours early, which I specifically said NOT TO DO! Doesn't matter, we work with it. Then, they charge me for the extra time (their error). I ask them to remove. They blow me off for almost a month. I contact them again today and basically they tell me they aren't going to fix it.

I suppose if you want to be charged 25-30% more than market, for crap service, and unexpected up charges later, they would be your broker of choice. If not.they are just a broker. Your choice, but I'm putting them in the do not use. I was in a pinch so I took a shot. But I ended up shooting myself in the foot by working with them.

Never use this service. I am astonished a business with hundreds of reviews has such a poor rating. I am ashamed I contracted with a business without reviewing all their ratings first. Please also see their terrible ratings with the Better Business Bureau. It is February 15th. On February 1st, I contracted with Freightcenter to pick up a shipment on February 2nd.

I paid in full. Freightcenter filled out the Bill of lading incorrectly and thus contracted with a shipper who only ships crated and palletized items, which mine was not. Of course, I did not know this, so I waited around for an entire day for the shipper to arrive. I called Freightcenter and informed Trent of the mistake. Trent told me it was not his fault, it was the forms Freightcenter uses, but that they would get a new shipper out to me the next day.

On February 3rd, when once again I was told to wait around all day for a shipper, in printing my BOL I noticed that Trent had again contracted with the same shipper whose policies would not allow them to pick up my items. I called Trent and he said he would fix the problem. It is now February 15th, 12 days later. I do not have a new shipper. I have no estimated date for a shipper. No one will call me back, and I have lost a customer for the first time ever in my years of shipping.

I shipped a tubing bender with freight center, and the charged me an additional $155 bucks saying that the bender was over 100 pounds heavier than it was supposed to be. I forwarded an email from the manufacturer of the bender, that confirmed the weight was what I had claimed. then the customer who purchased the bender weighed it at his shop, and also verified that Freight Center was indeed incorrect on their claim, and still no refund on my dispute! and as far as them making pick-ups, they never call as instructed. I've had to reschedule pickups 3-4 times for 1 item.

I highly recommend that nobody use freight center. they're a bunch of crooks, in my opinion. P.S.i had to select at least 1 star to post this review, and I honestly don't think they deserve even that much lol

They gave me an estimate that my shipment (IL-AZ) will be delivered in 7 days. It's been 3 weeks since then and my shipment hasn't been delivered yet. They kept lying me with the location of the package whenever I checked with them. First time, I was told that the package is in CA, the day after I was told that's in AZ and 3 days later they told me that my package is in OK. I still don't know where is my package and when it will be delivered. Awful experience, don't give them your trust and money!

I've recently scheduled two different freight deliveries, both of which were scheduled and handled by Jennifer C., Truckload Account Manager. My overall experience with the service was great. Jennifer kept track of everything and kept in touch with me from start to finish. As someone who speaks with and engages with a variety of people in all levels of business on a day-to-day basis, it is so refreshing to work with someone who is kind, knowledgable, and communicative.

I never once had the impression that was incapable or negligent. When our company decided to start using freight deliveries to transport our equipment, replacing back and forth trips by our subcontractors, we were using FreightQuote by C.H. Robinson, which is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. After working with Jennifer on these two most recent deliveries, I am confident and comfortable officially switching over to FreightCenter as our number one go-to for freight transport.

It is incredibly rare that I am able to send a company a positive review on one of their employees (mainly because most people I encounter are mediocre at best). Jennifer C. does an excellent job at representing positivity within FreightCenter, and I hope the company and management team recognize and acknowledge her outstanding work as an employee.

I shipped a wing to Florida with this company. Everything went well. I subsequently shipped the same wing back. The second shipment weighed more and I paid for the excess. After I received the shipment the company claimed that it weighed an additional 50 lbs more than what the manufacturer claimed the shipping weight was. They charge my credit card an additional $250 plus they said they could not make a pick up the first time they were came and charged me an additional $50 for a missed pickup.

They could have called, as instructed, but did not. I have been waiting in a dispute for the overcharges for 6 months. No response from the company. Update: after leaving a phone message and then posting this review. I received an email in the afternoon that they are crediting my account.

I'm going to stop using this company and would not recommend it to anyone. I've done a few shipments and the price was great, but the amount of stress induced by late pickups and poor communication isn't worth it. I'd pay more for on-time pickups, prompt and accurate replies and no BS charges. I recently shipped a car door to an automotive shop.

I always pickup and drop off at the terminal due to cost savings and convenience of doing it on my own schedule, so I know the door was not very heavy, I put it on a pallet and loaded it myself, by hand. The customer did not ask for a liftgate delivery, so none was offered, but after it was delivered, I was charged $162 MORE because someone delivered it with a liftgate.

I did not authorize this and was not notified of it. Any able-bodied person could have released the straps from the pallet and taken the door off the back of the truck by hand. Had I been notified ahead of time that a liftgate was going to be used, I would have told Freightcenter NO, and would have been willing to pay for the door to be returned to Pittsburgh if the buyer was unwilling to either pay me for the upcharge or unload the door without a liftgate.

But the door was delivered, I have no leverage to make the buyer reimburse the charge since the door is now in their possession and $162 was charged without my permission. The next step will be to file a chargeback with my credit card.

I waited in my warehouse whole day. but didn't come to pick up. so i want to cancel the order the next day, But the Freightcenter still charges me 15%. I recommend Globaltranz. There is no charge for cancellation

I used this service once before with no problems, figured I'd use them again. From start to finish pure shenanigans. No guaranteed pick up date/time. Damaged my bike. No phone calls to explain, admit to or confirm delays. Promises to call back. Its like they don't really want your business. So I will grant them that. I didn't bother calling about the bikes dented fender. Too fed up with the bs. Use someone else.

Try 0 stars. This company is a JOKE. Used their service to ship a very expensive ONE OF A KIND 4ft x 4ft painting to a customer. First of all, the driver never came. A few days later (after chasing the rep) they send a driver and never to be heard from again. A MONTH of followup and no one knows where the painting is. Excuses each time "completing dock searches, will call you by the end of the day".

Never happened. They blame the trucking company but SCHEDULED the shipment thru the trucking company and now want nothing to do with our claim. Had us file the ppw and someone disappear when I ask when I am being reimbursed the additional $400 I paid to ship the painting they managed to lose. Crickets! Had to dispute it with my bank. Awful "sales manager", reached out to the CEO and CFO, again, crickets. This company is a joke! Go elsewhere!

Do NOT use. FreightCenter is not a shipper. FC hires shipping companies. FC is a middle-man. Too many cooks in the kitchen. The way they are set up is a MESS. Your delivery will not be picked up on time. You will call FC and they will have to call the shipper. The shipper will never call you. You will be told that they can come WHENEVER THEY WANT.

Your delivery will be damaged. We had to file THREE insurance claims for the three and ONLY three pieces of furniture we shipped through them. Never again. The employees are doing their best - they are powerless in the business model and I honestly feel sorry for them. DO NOT USE. Go straight to the shipping companies themselves or you will be spending hours and hours of labor tracking, tracing, following up with, apologizing to clients, filing claims for and on the phone trying to resolve everything. what a mess. T-Force and Estes ruined our product so stay away from them too!

Do not ship with this broker. They will damage your freight like how they damage my engine and will not take any responsibility for their actions. Corporate greed at its best. When things go south, good luck in trying to get a hold of anyone at freight center. They are quick to collect money, but can give a rat's behind when things go south. Never again until the earth blows up will I ship with freight center. You've been warned to stay away unless you want headaches, then be my guest and more power to you.

Do not use this service. They quoted me 500 dollars to ship two chairs. Afterwards wanted 1500 dollars back. then used my credit card to pay the balance while I was complaining about the costs. Moreover the chairs were deliveed damaged. The insurance did not even cover my electrician charges. This is an illegal rip off service. Just horrible. and a rip off for sure.

We had a horrible experience with Freight Center. They "tried" to nickel and dime us on EVERY SINGLE thing. Having said that, we did take out insurance (an extra $55) because we were having "porcelain" tiles being shipped. Many stops were made during this shipment. The tiles arrived a day later than the estimated date and we had several boxes of tiles that broke during shipment.

We filed a claim for the broken tiles and the claim was denied, despite all the pictures and proof we submitted. They stated our damage was not $500 or more. Needless to say, the insurance was a complete waste of money. I have a feeling if it wasn't because of this reason, it would be something else. All in all, we will NEVER do business with Freight Center again. Nor will we recommend this company to anyone. There are other companies out there who care about their customers AND their products.

I wish i could give this zero stars. I wish I had read these reviews prior to shipping with Freight Center. Completely incompetent. Shipment was not picked up on time. Still hasn't the BOL had to be changed 3 times by 3 different people. Extra charges for unnecessary line items. Absolutely zero confidence that my shipment will make it. Im not even confident theyll pick it up.

I was quoted $522 for a shipment. A week after the shipment was to have been picked up, I received no shipment notification so I contacted them. They explained that carrier that accepted the shipment actually doesn't do business in the state where the shipment was originating. Huh? You have to send a detailed description of the item being shipped, and after a manual review of the shipment details, the carrier accepts the shipment. So, if this explanation is to be believed, the carrier read the details of the shipment, accepted the shipment and then simply blew off the shipment with no notice whatsoever.

I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. This explanation is more than a little hard to believe. So now the shipment is delayed over a week and Freight Center is quoting a new price was $1,538. When I asked them to honor their contract price of $522 they said, "Freight Center is a third-party logistics company we do not own any freight trucks. Unfortunately, Freight Center can not honor the original rate".

I have a contractor scheduled to install the product being shipped and I'll have to pay him because the item will not be at my shop. The customer that I'm doing the project for will have to wait two additional weeks for completion. This is for an RV that he'll use on his vacation, that will now have to be rescheduled. Needless to say, he's not happy. This will result in thousands of dollars in additional costs, not to mention my reputation for delivering projects on time. USE THIS DISREPUTABLE COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I have used Freight Center twice now. The first time I was pretty much billed double for an Item I ship all the time. They said it was twice the weight that my digital scale said it was. Which meant they charged double. I have read many reviews that claim the same thing. Hard to believe we are all wrong weight the common denominator is Freight Center.

It gets worse, my second shipment was a custom set of Mile Markers for a client. I built a special crate for. I added extra insurance on the shipment to cover it incase of damage during transit. Freight Center sat on it for ten days before reaching out to me. Once they did that was all the help I received from Freight center. The insurance company they use Centerline Property and Casualty Insurance is a complete failure.

They expect me and my client to wait up to 120 days before they give us an answer on the claim. The insurance company and Fright Center I have contacted no less than a dozen times via email and phone and they refuse to communicate. The short side to this story is please don't use Freight Center for your logistics. If your package makes it there it will cost you double because they will tell you it weighed more than it did and if it gets damaged you are out of luck if you expect them to help. Worst vendor I have ever chosen for logistics in 22 years.

I had a pick up scheduled yesterday from 8am to 5pm. But carrier did not come to pick-up even though I was at the pickup place for all day, and the carrier did not tried to call me, and After 6pm, I called FreightCenter that I am still waiting for the carrier. They said I can wait until tomorrow morning. But the carrier did not contact me even next day.

The schedule is very important because I am moving out tomorrow. So, the FreightCenter totally screwed up my plan. So I asked them to fully refund my payment. but they said they can refund only 85% because the schedule was not guaranteed, and they said it is only 1day late(it was very rude for customer) I think they do not care of customer's schedule, and it is very ridiculous that they did not mention the schedule is not guaranteed when I paid the service. They had to mention that when I pay the service. they are super unprofessional, and does not care of customer's schedule. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

Make sure freightcenter is your absolutely last stop for all of your freight needs. The carriers understand that freightcenter policies are set up in a way that benefits the carriers over the customers. The carriers then charge overweight charges back to freightcenter who blindly charges their own customer. Even if you can prove your weights were accurate, they hold the money and allow the carrier's decision to be final.

Then when contacting freightcenter customer service to dispute the claims, they are radio silent until they feel like getting back to you and only answer some of your questions. They are extremely quick to charge you for additional costs that you didn't verify and up to right now, I have not gotten any type of refund. They will use the fact that your time is valueable against you and make sure it takes several hours to meet their requirements to dispute the unauthorized charges.

This incentivizes you to accept the charges because it costs you more money to dispute them than to let them through. Be wary of this company, they will bend you over at the first chance.

I shipped an engine.1 month later i received a billing adjustment invoice for 68.25 over weight and 35 processing. no common sense! i disputed and verified the weight! they said ok! 2 days later they made an unauthorized withdrawal from my account! i've provided 7 pages of weight verification! they want a pic of it on a scale! clearly u will never get a refund for a dispute. they will charge whatever card u gave them originally without authorization! do not use! during a pandemic they took 103 out of my account. maybe they think 1 didn't need groceries last week.

The absolute worst shipping company I've ever dealt with in my life, I regret not reading the reviews about them because not only did their freight delivery destroy a fully restored $4000 Car Engine, but they refused to reimburse me or do anything to make it right whatsoever, going so far as to blame me for it and give me a complete runaround when trying to get them to address the situation.

I ate the shipping charge and had to eat the $4000 loss on top of that. It would have been cheaper and safer for me to roll the engine down the street on a trolley than it was to go through this company, and I'd probably still have my engine. Dan, the contact I had the misfortune of working through at FreightCenter, completely blew me off and wouldn't do a thing to help me.

He was condescending to me throughout the entire process, from looking for shipping rates to getting the thing shipped to it finally ending up in a pile of spilled oil and broken pieces all over my garage floor trying to get a reimbursement for the damage. Yet another mistake was not reading into the tone of the conversation enough to realize that it was going to be a nightmare situation all around. Nothing but regrets using FreightCenter, and I hope anyone reading these reviews heeds their warning like I didn't.

Dont use them. Period. I'm a business owner and ship approx $200-250K per year in combined shipping (parcel, crates, ltl, etc) and have shipped with multiple shippers over the years and these guys are the worst. Stay away. My scales are certified every 30 days and dead accurate. We always add a few extra pounds to each BOL just to cover bases but we constantly got these double weight overcharges and they take the money out of your account first, then you have to fight for months to get it back even if you have all the proof.

What broke our relationship was a shipment of 2 custom hand made tables worth $12,500 for my client and over the course of a month, lost it. It was only going 300 miles. Its a 2 day delivery tops. I even paid an additional $500 for another truck through them to go pick it up and drive it to my now extremely upset client and they kept that money as well. Took weeks to get a return phone call or email and then it was "well, just wait for our decision in 120 days".

Some of the reps are friendly but its the infrastructure and lack of accountability that makes this company a huge liability for shipping. From one small business owner to another, dont. There are lots of other options.

Scam, After 5 months of the product been shipped, my card got charged because apparently the packet dimensions were bigger than the ones given during the contract. How do you just find that out after 5 months?

We contracted Freightcenter to pick up a shipment from our customer who is about 90 miles away. They had it picked up no problem but then it was taken to a freight terminal where it sat. We tried for 3 days to get an answer of when it would be delivered from their customer non-service department that kept giving us different dates. Finally in frustration we rented a truck and drove 80 miles to the freight terminal to pick up our shipment. Did we get a refund or credit?

Not even but 2 months later they charged us another $90 for freight they NEVER delivered. If you have a shipment that you never want delivered this is the company for you. Very fraudulent business.

I had a pick up scheduled today. I called the FreightCenter in the middle of today to make sure things are on track, but the guy who answered said they would come before 5pm, so I waited. At 5pm, I called the FreightCenter again, and the same guy picked up and suddenly told me they wouldn't be able to pick up because the driver is not available.

He said he would have customer service department call me in a minute, but it has been 40 minutes since he hung up. I tried to call the customer service and the reservation department (where I talked to him), but no one answers now (why? all of sudden?). Everyone seems to just try to avoid dealing with this whole mess. This whole situation is RIDICULOUS.

It seems like no one cares about this, and now I have to figure out a solution all by myself to get things straight (which doesn't seem possible). I have a flight booked tomorrow, so it was critical to have my stuff picked up today. I could have found an alternative solution if I was told that they wouldn't be able to come today or even the pick up dates were not guaranteed when I first made the reservation.

There was not a single mention of that during my phone call to set up this reservation. I really hope someone at least answers my email or phone call to show they actually care about their customers.

SHIPPER'S BEWARE! I wish I would've read all the reviews before choosing this company. Worst nightmare of my life, called to have them ship a microwave from New York to Georgia. The Microwave still has not made it to Georgia and it's four months later. I've called and emailed and all I get is the run around. I even had to do my own leg work in finding out what happened to my lost microwave.

No one is talking about giving me a dime, the shipping company nor the Freight Center. Freight Center is stating they farmed it out to Fed Ex - Fed Ex is stating they never picked it up at the appliance store. The Appliance store is blaming Fedex and Fedex is blaming the shipping company and while this is going on. Who is going to give me back my money?

Still waiting for Mike Appice to respond to emails/claim. Please choose a company that will stand beside their service and if something goes wrong they will make it right - not one that decides to hide and stop answering phone calls. #PISSEDINGA

Second update. My couch finally arrived unscathed and I haven't noticed any additional charges, so I've upped my review one star. Overall I'm giving this four stars bc I did receive my item and everyone was perfectly nice, however I would reconsider using this company in the future, even though everything turned out fine. The unknown variables were just too much for my anxiety. -------------------- Update: I finally received communication from Freight Center and the third party freight company.

I was given a more detailed account of what to expect from scheduling, which should occur within the next two weeks 24-48 hours prior to pickup. It is still a waiting game, but my concerns are slightly abated. I will update my review accordingly once complete. ---------- I contacted Freight Center over a week ago. They have my money, but no one has called to schedule the shipping of my couch. I'm on a strict timeline to remove it from my grandmother's house, who recently passed away, which I already explained to them when I booked.

I left a voicemail for Ryan Meadows at ext. 1008, and emailed him. I got a response of "I'm waiting for a reply from the carrier". The name on the BOL is different than the company that was quoted, and I was told to ignore the delivery date on the paperwork, which is mysteriously the same date they took my credit card number for booking. I called back two days later, was placed on hold for an extensive time, and then the female rep said Ryan "already gave me the phone number for the carrier", which never happened.

I left a message for the carrier. I'm so frustrated and upset bc I am not only afraid that I can't recover my dead grandmother's couch, but online reviews imply extra charges will be added a month later due to mysteriously added weight. I am ready for my couch to be shipped, or provided a refund. If I can't get a response by the end of this week I'll go to my bank and dispute the charges on my card since services were never rendered.

I used Freight Center back in Dec to ship a strip down Pontiac 455 long block engine from TN to VA. The quote was done online for 560lbs and.85 weight factor. The online quotes came in and $189 using CTC Trucking was the lowest bid. I accepted the offer and set up an acct online and made the payment. The next day all of the documents and BOL came over email to put on the container and one copy provided to the truck driver.

The delivery went thru ATL and on to VA and arrived on the 4th day. 2 weeks later I get an email alerting me $625 was taken out of my acct because someone wrote 2000 lbs on the BOL. I spoke with CTC about it with no assistance since they actually handled the shipment and then filed a complaint with Freight Center. 2 months later nothing has been addressed until I followed up yesterday.

The Customer Service center then asked me to find reliable sources on the internet that references the weight of a Pontiac motor and they ll consider reimbursing me for the overcharge. I provided 3 sources which one was used for the quote and all are in the 550 to 700lb range. They could ve called any number of companies who rebuild engines in the US and got a actual weight to validate my estimate but wouldn't!

Somehow Freight Center seems to think that the earth has magnified it s gravitational pull by 4X! BEWARE and use a prepaid debit card to protect yourself from ripoffs like this! It s not what you know but who stole your money after you proved in this case and wont do the right thing!
