Used Broadway Express for my move from Boston to San Diego. They were wonderful every step of the way. Highly recommended.

I found myself in need of a moving company following the death of a family member. Todd and his staff rearranged their schedules to accommodate our needs. On time and very accommodating. They helped us with every detail. A 5 star experience to be sure.

My husband and I hired Broadway Express to move our household goods from Austin to Detroit at the end of July. This is the second time we have used Broadway Express for our move, the first being back in 2005 from L.A. to Austin. Once again, the company and drivers have proven their worth. Our driver, Terry Short, did an outstanding job. He was very friendly, efficient and motivated with both the loading and unloading process; he was in constant communication with us as to his expected arrivals time; and was always professional and courteous.

Overall price is by space that is rented on the truck, not by weight, so there are no hidden costs when it arrives at your destination. We had everything boxed, wrapped and ready to go when Terry arrived. We paid him extra to supervise our hired labor and guide the load-in and load-out. Well worth it! Highly recommend this company!

Avoid using Broadway Express at all costs. Literally. Pay more for others, unless you want your belongings to arrive late, damaged, & spend months trying to get them repaired/replaced. Three days before the last day in the window for our belongings to be delivered on time, I got a call from B'way. Rather than an update about delivery, I was told that they needed move our belongings from one truck to another, but they couldn't do that because they didn't have the key to my car (not required in their instructions).

They asked me to FedEx my car key overnight so that they could move things, or threatened to take an additional TWO WEEKS for them to get our goods back! Essentially held hostage by them, I did as asked. They told me I'd be reimbursed for the FedEx shipping by the driver when he made our delivery. The truck with our goods finally arrived four days late, driven by a surly and chauvinistic driver named Robert, who said he knew nothing about a reimbursement for a FedEx shipment (I say chauvinistic because he was far more respectful with my husband, while he was dismissive and condescending in conversations with me).

When we opened the truck, we noted immediately that the repacking of our belongings had been done haphazardly. One heavy, wooden item was so poorly secured that it almost fell on the head of one of our movers! The B'way Express moving team had decided that one of our bookcases needed to be disassembled. Instead of carefully disassembling the bookcase, which would have involved unscrewing wood planks, the bookcase was ripped apart in such a way that it can never be reassembled and thrown on top of our other items.

Several other items were disfigured or crushed. And then we got to my car. For 2500 miles, our bikes rode next to the car, poorly secured, resulting in significant damage to a car door. We have been attempting to get our household and car back in order. It's been more than four months now since our goods were loaded onto their trailer, and we are still arguing with their insurance agent over how we will be made whole. They haven't even reimbursed us for the cost of FedEx-ing the key to them! So save yourself the trouble, and go with someone else, especially if shipping a car.

We have used Broadway three times for cross country moves. They have consistently beem cheaper than any others. We supplied our own labor, and even loaded cars on two of the moves. Every driver was courteous, and our belongings were always delivered timely. Our belongings have always been in good shape. Most of the drivers are experts at stacking goods and will make sure everything is loaded well (drivers charge you hourly to load your belongings). If we ever move again, Broadway is at the top of our list.

If you are doing a long distance move this is the company to use for trucking your things. We moved from Seattle, Washington to Texas and had a great experience. Todd gave us a reasonable quote (that beat all the competition). The driver was a huge help to the movers we hired to load and unload. He had extra tie downs and blankets which other companies like ABF/u-pack do not provide.

Only down side was I wanted to reserve a little more space and called a week in advance, but the truck was already fully reserved. Fortunately the Seattle company Nice Moves Moving worked packing magic and got everything to fit even though we had added a lot of boxes we had not initially planned to move. The driver arrived on time for pick up and communicated with us during his drive and was on time for delivery.

We were very happy with the job Broadway Express did. Our driver was very concerned about making sure our load arrived safely - he even repacked several feet of the truck because the movers we hired did such a poor job. He was quick to get the truck to our new home, and once we met the driver, we had good communication. The pick-up date did get moved back a day because of the truck breaking down, but they were flexible knowing this could create problems for us. I would recommend them, especially if you use professional movers (Mathis, Suddath) to load the truck.

I moved from Atlanta to Las Vegas. I ordered 28 feet using estimates from professional estimators and the use of the tool on Broadway Express website. The truck shows up with barely 20 feet. After 2 hours of wrangling, Broadway Express agreed to dispatch another truck to take the overflow. I had no promise of delivery from the overflow but I was stuck.

This is 3 days after Christmas. So I didn't have many options but to load and try it. The driver, Don, said he could get it in but we had a back up anyway. Of course it didn't fit. Because I didn't have promise of delivery of the remaining furniture I decided to rent a U-Haul and tow my car. Now I did order and paid for 28 feet. They said they would reimburse me for what I didn't get.

Then all the furniture is on and the owner decided that he is only going to reimburse $350 because the other truck had a dead head from Birmingham to Atlanta to catch the overflow. I would perhaps understand this except while the other truck was here he received a full load order from Tucker, GA, which is in the Atlanta area. So they were going to have to drive to Atlanta anyway.

They didn't know I spoke with the other driver. I still haven't been paid the $350 yet alone the $800 I was told I would get. Don, our driver did a great job. He did pack the truck with more than I thought he ever could. (which also explains why Broadway wont reimburse you for the feet you don't use like ABF will. Not a scam but it may be bordering on it.) I can't recommend Broadway Express.

While trying to pick a moving company to move me from Illinois to California this summer, I was super stressed by all of the mixed Yelp reviews for these companies. No one had a consistently good record, so I basically just decided to go with the cheapest quote, which was from this company. The price I was given was substantially lower than almost any other place.

The rep I set everything up with on the phone wasn't as quick to return calls as I would have liked, but she was friendly and helpful otherwise. The mover showed up on time as planned and helped a great deal in loading (I would highly suggest paying the extra cash for their assistance--we couldn't have done it without him!). I don't know a lot about moving, so he used a bunch of the blankets to pad my furniture.

He let me know when he would be there and then called to verify the day before his arrival, which was like 3-4 days after the pick-up. When he showed up, he still had to clean up and fold blankets from the previous move, which kind of annoyed me, since you're supposed to pay them by the hour, but again, he was helpful and friendly. One thing I learned: wrap mattresses and other cloth furniture items in plastic since the trucks aren't absolutely moisture-proof.

That was my fault, but the damage was minimal and fixable. Nothing broke at all, and none of my furniture had even a scratch. I plan on moving again, and I will definitely be calling this company again! Highly recommended :)

Hello everyone, Here is my review of Broadway Express. Our move: Chicago, IL to Tucson, AZ 11' - $2,345 Scheduled load date: June 28 Estimated arrival date: July 1-9 The facts: - Two days prior to our move, we were told the date was being pushed back to June 29. At the same time, our driver told us he would only be taking the load to Broadway's Effingham, IL warehouse until another truck could be procured to take it to Tucson. - Our load sat in Broadway's warehouse from June 29 - July 11. Broadway's excuse was that no drivers were available to take our load to Tucson. - At some point, our load was transferred to another truck at Broadway's warehouse.

The same care used to pack the truck in Chicago was not used by Broadway to re-pack our load. Multiple items were damaged, and I provided photo evidence to Broadway. - The truck arrived on July 16, a full week late. This was particularly hard on us because my wife was seven months pregnant, and we were living in an empty house with no furniture. - We were initially refunded $234.50.

Upon pressing Broadway about the damaged furniture, they eventually refunded another $150. My thoughts: In general, I did not find Broadway to be very communicative. They could have made me a lot happier by simply calling me more to give status updates. Instead, it was me picking up the phone and sending emails the majority of the time. Our drivers were Ron Fulmer and Don Rodgers.

Both were fine to deal with. We had paid movers on both ends, but I still paid Ron to help supervise the loading process and ensure careful packing in Chicago. Of course, none of that mattered once Broadway moved our load at their warehouse and damaged several items. Our sales rep was Todd Daily. He was not able to help much beyond the sales process, referring me to Linda Blake-Miller, the head of dispatch. Linda has a very pleasant demeanor and was very apologetic.

When I pressed her for an additional refund for the damaged furniture, she had to clear it with the owner. Throughout pestering Broadway about the refund, which took place from July 23 to August 21, I was told only the owner can authorize customer refunds. He owns five businesses, and is only in the office for short periods of time. Additionally, he was in the process of relocating his classic car business, so this made him even more scarce when it came to talking to Linda about our refund.

The final word: Although Broadway refunded me an additional $150, that's really not very much money, considering how hard I had to press them for it. The one week arrival delay (making it 17 days without any furniture) was hard to swallow. They didn't tell us about transferring our load in their warehouse until two days prior to the move. They damaged our furniture. I had to initiate most of the communication. Bottom line: pick a different moving company. - Jason Davis

We used Broadway Express to save money in a recent interstate move. Everything went great and all of our goods arrived on time and in great condition. We hired an excellent moving crew to load the truck at our origination and also to unload the truck at our destination. Broadway Express provided plenty of straps, tie-downs, a bulk-head, and lots of thick furniture pads.

We did NOT hire our driver to assist with any moving, though he was very helpful in tieing down a vehicle we loaded into the trailer. This is a wonderful alternative to save money in a move compared to a full-service moving company. In our case, it actually ended up being less expensive than driving rental moving trucks across the country in addition to shipping our vehicles. Good luck to everyone who is moving! :

We used them for a "self" move; it was cheap and quick. The driver (Paul Lueke) was very friendly and helpful. They will help load and unload, but you have to have everything ready to go. Very efficient and good value.

I had a very excellent experience with the people I worked with at Broadway Express. Broadway Express allowed me to change my date multiple times without penalty, was polite and communicative and did not sneak in extra hidden charges. I would definitely use you again on my next move! The only thing I can critique is small: get a 800# fax number and encourage drivers to smoke off premises and CLEAN their butts from the ground. Other than that, professional and trustworthy.
