We used Hollander to assist with our move from Chicago to Toronto. We had the pleasure to work with David Hollander and Aaron Pratt. They were both helpful and available to answer our questions. We had a video survey with David Hollander to be able to get an accurate quote for our 1 bedroom apartment. Our move was scheduled on 2/16 in Chicago and we received our belongings on 2/24 in Toronto.
The movers were on time and very helpful. If you are moving to Canada as a settler (please see tariff 9807) you can import your belongings tax free. You will need to fill out BSF186 (personal effects accounting document) and BSF186A (goods to follow). Both forms need to be filled in upon first arrival in Canada. I strongly encourage to take pictures of the inventory taken by the movers.
This will be used as goods to follow that needs to be presented at the border. Please print that inventory because the border officer will need to stamp it. Be aware that the carbon copy the movers give you might be unreadable, hence may not be sufficient at the border. Since it is an international move, your belongings will arrive at a bonded warehouse in which you need to present the stamped documents (from the border) for the goods to be released. Our truck driver Bill met us at the bonded warehouse and helped us through the process. Definitely would recommend Hollander for an international move.

Hollander is the absolute best. If you, your family, or your friends need to move house, I highly recommend Hollander. Their office and logistics staff are very responsive, always responded quickly, and answered all of my questions. The moving crew that I was assigned who packed, loaded, hauled, and unloaded all of our stuff was absolutely out of this world.
They were polite, professional, thoughtful, and extremely careful with our things. All of our stuff was packed and loaded with extreme care, and meticulously inventoried. Everything made it to our destination without any issues. Huge shout-out to Tony, the foreman of our crew, for taking such outstanding care for us. This move would have been so much more difficult if we had not been placed in his care.

Sales and coordinator folks were great. Stated the quote and stuck to it. Caryn was actually able to have it reduced a bit due to a few timing items which was great. The driver (Konrad) and the movers working with him were professional, fast and careful. They made a stressful event very pleasant. Everything was moved on time and with no damage incidents. I would definitely recommend Hollander based on my experience. They were awesome!

Moving is very stressful. We are 70 years old and we were downsizing after living in the same home for 25 years. Hollander was terrific and made our move easy from the moment we contacted Rona Miller the Sales Coordinator, to the pre-planning assistance from Chris Kucharski the re-location Coordinator, to watching the crew unload our last box. The crew worked quickly, carefully, and efficiently.
They actually came in UNDER budget and are priced competitive with low budget movers, especially the ones that "low-ball" the quote and over-charge after the move. We are very happy with the entire experience and highly recommend Hollander.

We moved from Chicago to Denver in August 2021. They were the only company that would do a video inventory of our apartment. We also had an offsite storage unit that needed some packing. There were 3 teams involved - the estimator and office support, the packing team and the actual movers. We were happy with all 3 of them. Everything was done in an efficient and professional way.
They packed everything very carefully - only one small disaster happened prior to the actual move. It may have been a bit pricey but moving long distance is something most people don't do often and there's no point trying to get a low ball price. I would have no hesitation recommending Hollander.

Hollander Moving and Storage is a wonderful company. They have great drivers, very skilled packers adn quality loaders. They know what they are doing and it is cost effective. Communications are wonderful and the connect personal are very knowledgeable and friendly to deal with. They return calls quickly. A great company to work with. This is my second move with Hollander.

I did not use this company but I had a horrible confrontation with their movers on May 19. I live in an apartment building. It is fairly large. The street in front of the building is narrow and its hard for cars and trucks (and people) to get in and out. Movers are supposed to use the open alley with a ramp to move items in and out of the building.
When the movers came to this building on May 19 before 8:00 a.m. they parked directly in front of the NO PARKING sign and walked through two glass entrance doors in at the front of the building. When the movers moved items out o the building they also used this door and the handicapped ramp reserved for tenants and visitors. I mentioned this to the movers and my answer was 'F.K you.
Mind your own business! We'll be out in 15 minutes. There were more ugly words and the 15 minutes was actually more like 3 hours. The movers never moved the truck behind the building to do their job. The alley entrance was clear and spacious. It didn't block traffic. There was a ramp to easy move in through the double wide garage door. The movers blocked the elevator with the items being moved.
They blocked the hallways. The entrance was blocked. I contacted Hollander about this and was told that movers often had to use the No Parking zone because they needed to get in and out of the building quickly. Well, it would have been a lot quicker, faster and safer to use the designated entrance at the back of the building. I guess once I suggested the movers go move they didn't want to admit they were wrong so all they could do was swear and make threats and waste a whole lot of time.
