I have to go here several times per week and it's one of the worst stop I have to make. The lot is very rough and not well cared for. The yard spotters don't use caution when navigating the yard with trailers. They also like to stare at you when they drive by like they own the place, rather than get paid to show up and perform a duty. It makes for a rather uncomfortable visit by us truck drivers who have to be there for the short period of time it takes to drop off our trailers. A solitary star rating for this place.

We used Dohrn to ship a commercial bottle cooler worth thousands of dollars. It was shipped from Illinois to Missori, not really long distance freight. But unexpectedly, our freight was found damged severely on the bottom and the insulation was exposed, which was apparently due to inappropriate forklift or pallet jack hit. All freights were picked up from the warehouse in brand new and complete condition with certification.
This Jennifer Haines, claims dpt manager, reasoned that any concealed damage claim had to be filed within 5 business days. Delivery was made on 09/27/2021, and we filed all docs on 10/1, she firstly played the time game. After our broker Unishipper figured out with her that it is within 5 business days, and that should not be the decent reason for the claim denial, she impatiently questioned what we were not understanding and submission within 5 business days did not mean compensation. Hello, we were literate.
She said they would still deny the claim, as "There was NO notification of CONCEALED damage to the freight". If any concealed damage is found from the outside on delivery, is it still "concealed"? Most importantly, they did not ask the consignee to sign, let alone inspect. The carrier left the freight somewhere in the consignee's parking lot, did not ask consignee to inspect or sign for the delivery. However, the driver seemed to just sign on the consignee's behalf on the POD, which is used first by the claim department that claimed consignee signed it in good condition without looking into it.
This Jennifer first asked if someone with the name of the consignee is employed on the ship-to location, for sure there is, that is the receiver. She wanted to mess that it is the correct name since the receiver works on the shipping address, but our consignee did not recognize it was his signature. She then corrected the excuses that due to covid, driver has the option to not ask the consignee sign if not comfortable and write in the receiver's name instead.
So they could just fake the consignee's signature? That is really funny. It seems nothing professional investigation is needed for their "claim department" that would just deny any claims. They seem to have all the privileges, sign on the real receiver's behalf, damage the freight without paying a cost and above all, excuse all your faults for Covid. Everyone stay away from this company.

After 28 years at a previous job and profession, I started a new job last August in a new field at Dohrn Transfer and it has been a wonderful transition. Dohrn Transfer strives for excellent customer service. The fact that you can call a company and have an actual person answer the phone and direct the call to the proper department speaks volumes in this day and age. You are definitely in good hands with Dohrn Transfer.

I would give this company 0 stars if I could. I ordered 2 items from a company on Amazon that were over the size requirements to ship via UPS/FedEx. That company used Dohrn to get my items to me from Kansas City, MO. My order confirmation stated that it would be here between March 13-March 19th, 2015. Their packing slip is dated 03/09/2015, and I JUST received the package today, 03/25/2015.
This is after I emailed the supplier on 03/23/2015 asking where my package was. I firmly believe that if I hadn't emailed them, the boxes would STILL be sitting in their warehouse getting covered in dust & tire debris from their forklifts (an anonymous source told me that their warehouse staff like to play around and do burn-outs and race each other around the building) Their tire dust has left black marks all over my office carpet, and has ruined the outfit I am wearing. I will be calling to complain to their main headquarters office as well. Highly disappointed with this company.
