I dont understand the negative responses either. I came to Sharkey after long consideration of other companies and from day one they have looked out for my best interests and as a company driver I feel like I am given the freedom as a o/o. Chris in recruiting, Pauley in orientation, Mike as my fleet manager, Frank in service, and many more all are my family and loyal friends now.

I am on my second week now and as long as it pays out well, I plan to be here a long time. Just one suggestion, please eliminate some of this paperwork. takes me longer to fill out the trip log than dropping a trailer.

Wow. Seems to me, there quite a few complaints on here, which the unhappy driver(s) could've discussed with management (or whoever) in a private setting. How about picking up a phone, and voicing a concern directly to that person? Instead of trumpeting it to the public? Man up for once in your life. Quit trying to drive ratings down on a company, because you want to b-tch about problems you most likely created for yourself.

You say that the trucks are dirty. How bout taking a trip to the dollar tree, or Walmart; buy some cleaning supplies, , and clean your truck? It's that easy. And no. I am not an employee of Sharkey. I work for another company. Just looking into the company, which brings me around to look at the ratings. Good job Sharkey, on finding those good men and women, who are actually happy to be in your employ. They're the real men and women drivers, amongst these crybabies.

I'll defend Jack Sharky and all of his company's. I've worked for Sharkey for near 15 years it's the longest I've ever been at a trucking company. The reason I stay is loyalty. I'm pretty sure that the majority of these bad reviews are from drivers who never had a company like Sharkey look after them. In times like these you would be better off working with this company because we are basically recession proof. So give them a call it wouldn't hurt

Wow such a great work environment. Truckers feel like they are part of a family and are very happy and satisfied driving for Sharkey. The secretary's are aomw of the nicest and friendliest people I've ever met and the owner Jack is like a loveable business grandpa kindness but firm

Constant breakdowns. 2+ months to get paid for things like breakdown and detention if it gets paid at all. After being put in three different trucks, all of which broke down, and having driver retention tell me they can't possibly spare one of the 20+ newer trucks just sitting in the lot, called it quits. If you're not OTR, prepare to spend a lot of time on the side of the road because theyll stick you in a 10+ year old truck and make you pull 25 year old trailers around. The Galesburg drop lot is a trailer graveyard.

I have worked here on my first full week. Everybody is nice and helpful. My truck on the first trip had problems. Took it back and they gave me a Loaner. It had issues. Got back and picked my truck up on Tuesday. Today is Thursday and already having issues with the truck. I need a truck that is going to run. Better week this week then last. But still problems

I like working here due to home time is up to YOU. I've never been denied anytime. In fact, I have children in Michigan and yet I live in Missouri. Yet sharkey gets me up there by getting me runs through to visit. The pay is very compatible with the industry as a whole if I had any issues its that they don't have a 401k or pd time of but they let you have how much time you want off (within reason). I get 5-7 days off in a row each month by my choice. Good place to work. You should try it out IMO. I've been here 11 years and plan to be here several more.

Very good company to work for. I get home every weekend and get great miles thru the week pay is comparable with the average company pay. If you need home time its not a problem I work couple months then take a week off to do my own thing.

Not to bad to work for if you can handle a really slow truck(62 mph) and rough riding equipment. But it is fairly maintained even though it don't look that way. They don't push you unless you want to. Money is decent. Home time still working that out. Also don't believe them when they say "home every weekend" BS run to Denver area every week back by Thursday then it's short (115-300 mile) runs till Friday evening /sat morning then back out on Sunday.

Have told them numerous times no sense in that extra $25 for a whole day! Then you get the BS about rarely loading out on Sunday. Every week load out Sunday. Would not recommend them.
