Southern Pride Trucking is a money laundering operation. If you're complaining about not getting hired it's because it's about loyalty, not experience.

Over 20 years of driving experience. 5 years of that doing heavy and oversize on roads most wouldnt even take a truck and I am not qualified. Guess you just swing by the ol truck stop and buy some more experience. Good luck in your search.

Slow to roll. Applied with Southern Pride. Was pleasantly surprised that the owner did a phone interview on my first call. Was passed over to recruitment and this is where the sandbagging started. My wife and I filled out 16 pdf's of paperwork to the letter. Drove 120 miles round trip to scale bobtail and empty weights of tractor/trailer. "2 weeks" into the recruitment process and we were still being asked first day recruitment questions and wanting to pull the conestoga off so we could tarp loads instead exceeding 102".

We ended up with another company, kept the roller top and able to keep 10% more of our revenue. 35 years in the business. Intake of owner/ operators should be a tad bit smoother. When in doubt, roll out.take you chances drivers but don't do it if you are already without work coming in.

When tow showed up, i told driver my transmission is bad. Knowing my Transmission was bad, Driver decides to drive my vehicle 100 feet to his tow truck. When he could of easily backed up to my vehicle. Transmission shop even agreed driver should have avoided driving vehicle to avoid further damage

This company is at the top of the list of most drivers. People like myself, apply here for 5 years. Before any openings occur. Myself, I will stay for life. As I probably will make more as a company driver, than owner operators at other companies. We have about the moist cushy jobs in the trucking industry, with the opportunity to be able to retire. It's fun being able to buy a car with cash, and not have to worry about credit.

My husband has been an OTR trucker with his own rig for years and years. We leased on with companies that promised everything and delivered nothing. This is TRULY the best job out there for a trucker. There is always work and the loads pay a living wage. There were times at other companies where our income on a load didn't even pay for the entire fuel cost.

He has been employed here for over 5 years now and is planning on staying forever. Everything about the job is excellent, from the helpful and knowledgeable office staff to the owner, who makes himself available to the drivers even when it is largely inconvenient. It is amazing here and he has found his home here. My husband is a hard runner, doesn't take much time off, and is very committed to his company and he tells me that drivers that come on board and are counting down the hours that they can take off or go home and take off work are not likely to love this but if you're a driver hungry to get ahead in life and not afraid to work for it, this is your place. I could go on and on about how wonderful this company has been to us but the great things are just endless. No company deserves 5 starts more that SPT.

Just ran into one the Southern Pride arrogant drivers. She had her nose so far stuck up in the air it wasn't funny just because she has 260 inch sleeper. Sorry that doesn't mean your better than everyone else. Truly a truck that size is too big.

Haven't used them but 2 trucks on I5 were going over 85mph in a 60mph zone. One almost hit 3 of us and swerved racing around cars. Doing a speed over 25mph over the limit in a semi pulling a trailer is dangerous and stupid. I hope he loses his job. Police were notified, but I doubt anything happens
